"River City Extension sing about all the timeless things: religion, love and death, with just as much forlornness. As Joe Michelini dons his Christopher-Nolan's-Joker-sings-Bright-Eyes voice and the rest of the 8 member troupe take up everything from trumpets to cellos, the group faces intense pressure to produce something emotional, something witty - something good." - AbsolutePunk.net
V. and Instant Karma are acts from the area that are still building their fan base, but bring us a fresh new sound to the "scene" in the area.

"The melodies feel easy and soothing like the setting sun. It feels simultaneously Michigan-born, but at other moments pained or world-weary or endearing searching. It feels location-less, set on by the considerable traveling he's done through his not-yet-many years." - Real Detroit Weekly
Local favorites Joe Hertler, Andrew Neal and David Martin will round out the bill. Joe and Nathan are good friends, so this show should be extra fun.

Tobacco sometimes runs with a group called Black Moth Super Rainbow. On "Fucked Up Friends", his latest mission, he works alone. TobaccoÕs tools are analog synths, tape machines, and deformed incantations from throats unknown. His music is a wash of distortion and melody over jagged beats. It amalgamates hypnotic, cosmopolitan pop, gritty, propulsive hip-hop and a night full of fevered dreams. It buoys the spirit, braces the nerves, and smuggles disoriented paranoia deep into the subconscious. These are anxiously driven, effortlessly smooth and unapologetically badass sounds of inner nature.
Music at 8pm - $10-$12 - All Ages Welcome
Tickets on sale Friday 7/2 at 8am online here.
Advance tickets will also be available at the Strutt starting 7/2.

HEALTH IS COMING JUNE 16TH!
That's right, we're pleased to announce that HEALTH will be coming to Kalamazoo on Wednesday, June 16th. We have been trying to book HEALTH for 3 years now and we've finally been able to coordinate schedules to make it work.
This is the only Michigan show on the tour, and they won't be playing Chicago either, as they're on Lollapalooza in August. This will likely mean that our Kalamazoo show will sell out, or come very close to doing so.
Advance tickets go on sale this Friday, April 16th at 8am here.
Houston natives Indian Jewelry, London based electro producer Gold Panda and Kalamazoo local Rotten Wood Moon will all open the show. This one is surely not to be missed.

In case you haven't noticed, we have a new web design. Over the next few days there will be some "construction" as we migrate all of the old pages to the new design.
